If you've ever been to one of Meat Loaf's concert then you'll know what an electrifying experience it is and after attending their first concert many fans find themselves wanting to go time and time again.
What are the things you remember the most about your first concert?

My first Meat show was back in 2007, Labor Day 2007 to be exact. Meat played in Atlanta, GA as one of the closing shows on the U.S. leg of the 3 Bats Tour. I must admit that I did not know a whole lot about Meat when I was asked if I wanted to go to the show, but I figured that it would be a fun experience nonetheless. I was new to most of the music with the exception of having heard Bat and AFL in the past, so I was a blown away at this larger than life guy on stage leaving everything he had and then some some for the people in that amphitheater on that day.
I remember distinctly hearing Paradise for the first time and marveling at this stage show that was going on during this song and thinking how cool it was. Meat and Aspen managing to make the song come alive. After something like 2 1/2 hours on stage, he came out for even more delivering Mercury Blues and Gimme Shelter, and I remember thinking, "how is this guy still going."
This was the night that truly introduced me to was is now my favorite artist. I had been to other concerts before, but I had never seen such passion and intensity delivered on a stage. Another cool thing was the age range of the people who were at the show, everyone from 8-80, so it proved that this music really stood the test of time.

1984 (might have been 85) for me, loved it so much bought a ticket for the next night on the way out. Never looked back since though I'd probably be a hell of a lot better off financially if I had lol, started collecting everything Meat then and carried on till this day.

My first Meat Loaf concert was in 1993. I was sitting in the nosebleeds at the Miami Arena in Florida. It was the most intense experience for me. Fresh out of high school....a HUGE Meat Loaf fan, internet was a year away from being born. I sat at the edge of my seat the whole night. A lady was nice enough to lend me her binoculars who sat in front of me. The house was PACKED tight. I used them during Paradise to realize PATTI was wearing the same dress I wore to my PROM. SERIOUSLY!!! NO JOKE! I was floored. BUT, the thing that is ever so magical with a Meat Loaf concert, I felt like the whole night he was singing directly to me and we were only feet away (not the exaggerated mile away from each other). I felt his passion and his energy which I darn near mentally plotted my way down the rafters into the lower sections as Meat pointed (in my general direction) and waved the crowd to the front of the stage. I was PULLED into this experience directly by him. However, I was too chicken to go up front. I thought I'd get trampled and not find the people I went with at the end of the show. I vowed that I would sit closer. I had to get closer seats the next time I saw him.
I can only tell you that I sang my ass off and it was the best night of my life (thus far in my life). I wouldn't stop talking about it all the way home. We sang to a cassette in the car. We had a fantastic night. It was the first of many to come were my initial thoughts.

These stories are brilliant! Mine not so much, but I'll tell anyway ;D
My first concert was on the 28th of October 07. Bat III was my first ML album, and by the time of the concert I'd probably heard Bat I and Bat II as well.
That night really solidified me as a fan. I hadn't heard Meat live at all previous to this night (I had no internet access and only had some studio albums). However he didn't disappoint. I remember being really blown away by how much energy he had and how he appeared to really leave everything on the stage.
It was a great night, and it made me want to go back again. Which I did, to both a M&G in 2008, and to see him again in Glasgow in 2010.

LOL ;D I have a (short novel) story for you! I am a middle school librarian; I work with grades 5-8. Well last year, one of the 6th grade literacy teachers asked me to write an essay as a model for her students, who were learning "descriptive writing." Well, I had JUST come back from the Dallas concernt less than a month earlier. So you can guess what my essay was about! LOL However, after talking with the teacher numerous occasions, by the time the day came for me to present my essay, the whole presentation was huge! A vocabulary lesson on the word "behemoth," a mini Meat bio (6-slide powerpoint), then reciting the essay aloud, listening to a song, THEN showing off pictures from the concert while the kids wrote their own essay! 90 minutes long. NINETY! From bell to bell, those kids were INTO the lesson! And saying I needed to write a "sequel" because of the way I ended my story... They were SOOOO much into it, that the other 6th grade teachers/students heard about it, asked me to show it to them... Within 2 weeks, I had presented that same "lesson" to all 6th graders... AND 5th graders!!!!!!! With several teacher aides, the literacy coach, and district curriculum coordinator sitting in on one of them. OMG HAHAHA =D I have tried to make the essay into an online document. I hope the link works... If it does, ENJOY! If it does NOT, then I'll try again a different way! word.office.live.com/wv/WordView.aspx?FBsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fattachments%2Fdoc_preview.php%3Fmid%3Did.321957344521708%26id%3D030edd76518d326e7c2f333a61407a27%26metadata&access_token=73104244%3AAQCbQYgIc7hXfymY&title=Concert+Narrative+Essay

The Omaha Steaks show in Council bluffs, IA last year. Living in the Midwest, we don't get too many chances to see Meat. But it was an AMAZING show. He commanded the stage and took us all on a 2+ hour ride of awesomeness!

1977, long ago before everything started going grey, dropping and falling apart.
What I remember most was that the ticket price was so cheap compared to today, and you didn't pay to meet the man, you braved the cold at the stage door and hoped. Happy memories!

First UK tour at Hammersmith. We'd seen him on the Old Grey Whistle Test first time, and then the second when the response had jammed the BBC switchboard and he was called back to perform again. And vowed we'd b e there the first time he appeared on a UK tour. Long ago, and far away but still remembered. An electrifying performance that I knew would pull me back whenever he toured, and has done ever since. Back then the venues were smaller, but our seats generally far away as well as long ago Then he moved to the bigger arenas, and mostly I saw him only on a screen But still magical. For the last 14 years or so I have made it my business to see as many shows as I could, and I was delighted when he introduced the M&G packages. I'd met him quite a few times by then, but now I could get a decent seat and feel I could see the show up close without having to pay touts/agencies .. and each time I met the man himself as a bonus And of course his packages are at the lower end of the scale and always include a wonderful seat.Being only 5' tall even when I had managed to get seats in 4 or 5 row, as soon as everyone stood up, my view was generally of a burly back in front of me. Now I save and save, and see the show close up. And now I try to see as many shows in the USA as I can. The venues are generally smaller, and the atmosphere that bit more intimate. Best ever was I think Storytellers .. played to Meat's full range of stage and performing expertise .. and he sang FCOL, all the way through, sitting on a stool centre stage . and at the end there was a hush just as there must have been that famous night in front of the CBS executives .. followed by a similar spontaneous standing ovation. That was special .. The tickets have increased in price of the years .. but so have most things .. and not as much as petrol and cigarettes Meat keeps his at the lower end of the scale for performers of his iconic status .. last tour he did all the budgets himself, making sure he could keep prices as low as possible for his fans. I like that in the man, very much. And the value you get from a Meat show? Worth every penny and more imo. But every show has had it's magic, every one more than worth going to, every one a special night and a wonderful memory to treasure. May there be many, many more before he hangs up the touring trousers Caryl

Wish I would have known you back then. To think we were at the same show, but it would take another 3 years until Hershey, PA in 2010 to actually meet.
