I'm rather new to Meat concerts. I attended my first in Birmingham in 2010.
I was quite annoyed when I found out that Meat had played in Bath, which is less than 12 miles away from where I live and I'd missed it. I didn't have all that much money at the time but I'd have saved to make sure I'd have been there had I known. After I found out I decided I was not going to miss out on the opportunity again so I saved for the next time Meat happened to be over here.
Sure enough he did and I opted for the M&G ticket, thinking that it would be a once in a lifetime thing. I was ecstatic the day I got my tickets.
I was nervous about going as I was going on my own but I quickly arranged to meet up with another fan who was also going to see Meat for the first time.
The concert was amazing and although he played a couple of songs that aren't my favourites, it didn't matter because played live, they seemed different. He was everything I hoped he'd be in concert, even better. When the show was over, I just thought 'wow' and I knew that it wouldn't be that once in a lifetime thing because I had to go and see Meat in concert again if the chance came up.
I'd have loved to have gone to more shows on that tour but unfortunately I wouldn't have been allowed any more time off work as it was Christmastime and I worked in retail. It was hard enough just to get those few days off but I was determined not to miss him.
I already have the funds saved for the next tour and I am planning on attending more than one show. The only thing that will stop me from doing so is something like getting time off work. I'd love to see him in the USA one day but it's not going to happen this time around.
